But the question remains did you have another saucepan to cook the beans in?
 
You reminded me of when I was sleep-deprived after having one of my babies--I peeled the potatoes and put the peelings into the pan of water on the hob instead of the actual potatoes!!They worrying part was how long it took me to notice! LOL
