C2 Toilet

The electric flush on my C2 Toilet has stopped working, i have connected a voltmeter to the battery side of the fuse at the switch and got a reading of 13+ volts going in with the van connected to the mains, but at the other end of the fuse i am only getting a reading of 1.6 volts, i have changed the fuse and still getting the same reading. Help i'ts driving me mad

Allan, the C2 is not a complicated beast.

You should have 12v input at the connector in the cassette area, which then has the positive switched through two microswitches in the operating arm before going up to the pump.

Check the fuse using the continuity facility, they either work, or not, if no continuity, change it for a new 3 amp fuse.

If when you operate the microswitches you can hear a click, then they are usually working ok, only when you cannot hear the click are they faulty.

This then leaves the pump, which is the usual cause of problems.

The new Thetford toilet is supposed to have a bigger capacity at 18 litres than the older one at 17 litres but does anyone else find that it needs emptying more often?

I'm not sure if its down to the twin flush using more water or if its set for the warning light to come on sooner
