c200 flush drain

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to change the flush water drain to a tube like on older models ?

At the moment all I have is a little rubber bung which when you drain fulls the toilet cuboard,why don't the people that design caravan bits ever use them too test ?

Hi Derrick

Yes had the same problem this is what i did :

Buy one Therford draintube part No 21371 Right Hand its cheaper.

Take it apart just using the rubber tube Place this into the hole where the little rubber bung is in the C200 toilet it is the correct size. Then place the rubber bung on the other end of said rubber tube. You can purchase a 1/2" inline hose tap such as Blagdon part No 1072502.

I gave the idea to Stacie Pardoe and she placed it with photo,s in Pacical Caravan Top Tips she used to run.

Hope this helps if you neen anymore INFO just ask.

I have had a look on the HOME PAGE under TOP TIPs but connot find it listed. I try and find it on some of my back issues. If the forum would allow photo,s to be down loaded this would have helped.

The Top Tips are accessible from the homepage but the web designers haven't listed them or given any clue as to which one is which :0(

The only way to download photo's on to this forum is by using a photo hosting site such as photobucket. In the photobucket account click onto upload photo, then browse and nominate which picture that you wish to upload to photobucket. Resize the picture to no more than 460 pixels so that it will fit onto the forum, then copy and paste the image code from photobucket into your forum text. If the pictures are larger we have to delete them because they cause the webpage to expand which makes the forum difficult to use for everyone else.

This is what i did on my caravan got feed up pumping water into tank so now just place bucket outside the thertford door and let it drain down with out flooding the compartment.

I knew I wasn't dreaming!

I have been pondering this problem some time and my addled brain was sure I'd seen a solution somewhere.

Has anyone got this top tip that can be e-mailed or shared. Or perhaps as Stephen suggested the mods could allow the article to be accessed without the need to purchase the whole backcopy.

I posted the same question on another forum. I also emailed Thetford asking for their reccomendation to modify the drainage system. They answered with the reply that the flush tank shouild be emptied via the pump into the waste tank, this would leave a small residue that could be captured in the filler cap of the waste tank. Ther fact that IMO the system was a retrograde step was tactfully ignored.

I have therefore created a modification that works perfectly.

Obtain a length of flexible tubing (say 9") of a diameter which will almost, but not quite, fit into the drain plug orifice.Remove the rubber bung fromk this orifice and mark the end of the replacement tube to indicate the depth of entry of the bung. Then, using a container of hot, preferably boiling, water immerse the tubing making it pliable twist the tube into the orifice until the pre marked depth gauge has been reached. The tubing, upon cooling will form a water tight fit. I then found a sutable plug to insert into the tube. This 'Heath Robinson' has proved successful and solved the problem of easy drainage simply and efficiently. Hope this helps
