C3...the ultimate towcar?

Hi,

Over the weekend I saw an amazing sight. It was a Citreon C3 with three adults in it towing an elderly Swift Challenger 590 STA twin axle. I did not realise that the C3 was such a heavy kerbweight, Citreon have been hiding their light under a bushel!!! Can anyone beat that?

The Citroen has always been a fine towcar. A chap I knew used to tow a Crusader Superstorm with a ZX diesel. Wouldn't be my first choice though.

No not my choice either, my wife has a ZX 1.9 diesel non turbo grand car and a good runner but not enough guts for towing any caravan unless a Freedom Microlite or similar

Hi

Just because someone else does it, does not mean its legal. always check your limits in the handbook or with the supplier/manufacture

I owed a Swift Challenger 590/5TA twin axle and towed it with 3 different cars,no not all at once,

3.5 Range Rover

2.3 Volvo 740

3.0 Toyota Supra

The Supra was chipped to 210 bhp and went like a rocket ;O)

Dread to think what a C3 would drive like.

Hi Other Clive,

I think you need to be careful with your recommendations. From the look of the responses, people actually believe you're seriously recommending this set up.

If you see the C3 again, please can you just confirm than the caravan hasn't been fitted with an engine and is actually pushing the car.
