Cadac BBQ which model ?? and Gas connection question

Just looking at buying a Cadac BBQ as reading previous posts on here they seem to be very popular - have I assumed correctly on that popularity.

But which model do I go for ?? looking at towsure they seem to have several models and I dont really know what I am looking for

there choices are listed here:

http://www.towsure.com/category/7060
Also does anyone know if they will run on propane, I ask this as I run my van on propane cylinders and was wondering about adding a connection into the gas pipework to allow me to couple the BBQ too, I know a lot of vans have this external BBQ connection but mine doesnt. What connection type is used by those vans that have it as standard is it a bayonet type fitting such as a gas cooker etc. can the fitting be bought ???

Any responses much appreciated.

Regards

Mark

Great bit of kit the cadac.

We have the Eazi chef deluxe (no shelf on legs) and I know loads of people who have the carri chef deluxe.

The eazi chef is slightly cheaper than the carri, cos it doesnt have auto ignition or the shelf attached to the legs. Which ever you go for, make sure you get the delux pack as this has all the cooking surfaces except the piella pan.

They all will run off propane or butane, and you can buy the connection to connect upto a van gas point.

Hi Mark

We have just received our carri chef deluxe combo, we were advised by other forum members to go for the top of the range, and courtesy of Joby I found the best deal was www.amazingoutdoors.com we paid

I have just looked at both the eazi and the carri chef models, The carri chef looks to me to be on a more stable base, important with children around, this may not be the case but thats the way it appears, maybe others would comment on the two models.

With regard to the gas connections on the side of some caravans, do people just run a long flexible gas hose from their connections, also what is the connection like, is it some sort of quick release self sealing valve ????? I intend to add one into my vans gas pipework, so does anyone know where they are available from, I have looked on towsure but cannot find them.

Regards

Mark

We bought the Cadac Carri Chef delux with an additional Paella pan from Riversway leisure (cheaper than Towsure) and it arrived within 3 days. Excecllent piece of kit and with 3 young(ish) children the shelf help its stability. The bags are also useful for storage.

HI,

Well worth the money , i do the breakfast outside for 8 people and food keeps warm when cooked by placing them on edge of skottle.

Cadac is made in south africa and i had a small chip on the lid and one on the fat pan ... i emailed cadac uk direct and without any question they sent both replacments right away , brilliant after sales service.

Fully recommend it ! ........... Hary
