Cadac Carri Chef 2 - a heads up.

A relative of mine was on a nearby campsite recently so myself and her indoors visited while they were there and he had the new Cadac Carri chef 2, I was so impressed with how much improved they are that I’ve just ordered myself one, it’s coming with the Pan stand, the BBQ plate that has holes in so the food still comes into contact with the flame, there is a pan that will be great for stir fry’s/risotto type dishes which with my wife being veggie mad will get plenty of use and also got the Planchetta which is a divided cooking plate part ribbed and part flat griddle which is gonna be perfect for the full English brekkies, I reckon that lot will cover just about every cooking combination we need, the wife reckons we have had our other Cadac for at least 6 years so if this lasts as long it will be worth every penny.

We have had our old Cadac original about 10 years now, repaired a few times and it's had Lots of use, caravan and at home. I can still get spares, so it will last another couple of years.

Having used our Grillo Chef for the first time I found a major error in the instructions which other s might fall foul of. The instructions simply say you push in and turn the control knob to maximum and you should here it click and the piezo ignition would then light it. Ours simply did not do that and would not light and I was ready to complain that I had a faulty unit when my wife found a button about a third of the way round the unit and pressing that ignited the grill.
There is absolutely no mention of the button and the diagrams confirm the faulty instructions. If buying one be aware of this.

Thanks. When I first tried to light ours I thought that this is antiquated by having to put a long gas lighter onto the ring and then put the paraphernalia on top. What happens if it goes out I thought as removing that lot when it was hot wouldn’t be that easy. Pity the manual doesn’t cover it.

I will pass your thanks to my wife who found the button. I was about to claim under the warranty for a replacement.
