Cadac Easy Chef connection

I have a Lunar Quasar and have just bought a Cadac BBQ. In attempting to connect the supplied black hose to the van's external gas point I discovered it was too narrow to fit the tap. Do I need a wider gauge (orange type) pipe or is there an adaptor I have to buy?
 
You should attach a connector to the end of the hose. This connector then fits into the van. Not sure what connector you need, our van came with one. The hoses are meant to be tight, I had to soften mine in hot water to get it fit onto the connector. When it cools the fit is then very secure.
