I have just purchased a Cadac Easy Chef BBQ/Grill. I want to run this from my spare Calor Lite gas cylinder in the front locker. Are there any restrictions on the length of hose I can have from the regulator to the appliance? To save me removing the gas cylinder I estimate I will need 2m of hose.

John - I asked the same question some time ago and even emailed Cadac. They replied "to only use the length recommended in their instructions", if I remeber correctly 1.5 metres. I have a 4 metre hose for my cadac so that I can get it far enough away from the awning when it attached to the external gas point. Mine works fine and there is no loss of gas pressure.

I use two three metre length with bayonet connections on my Cadac and have no problems, its more of a trip hazard imo.

The date on the gas pipe/hose is important, but if the gas pipe was stored correctly prior to use then it is irrelevant to some degree, LPG gas pipe has a 3 year life from the date it is first used/fitted....or obviously if the pipe deteriorates prior then it would need changing sooner.

So you could have an LPG gas pipe/hose that is 12 months or more old before it is fitted, so....providing it is stored correctly then it should be OK.

Or that is how I understand it
