after another holiday in theis country where it rained for most of the holiday we have decided to go back to France for our holiday next year.

we normally go for 4 weeks to the south of france but with us both having different jobs we can only have two weeks off so has anyone got any recomendations of a really good campsite that we can go to thats near the beach, have to keep the 3 kids happy so a good sized swimming pool would be good too. we were ideally looking at further down than La Rochelle.

Pavillon Royal nr Biarritz is the best site in that part of France. On the beach, a pool, and very well run. http://www.pavillon-royal.com/pavillon-royal/

were not really bothered which part of France it is as long as its on the Atlantic coast.

maybe proper toilets on site too would be nice as i have stopped over on some sites on our way down to the south, where there were mixed toilets, and even worse just a hole in the ground ( oh the French are so sophisticated lol)

but any ideas/sites would be grateful

French hole in the ground bogs - I love them.

Anyway, back to the point. There are more campsites on the west coast of France than you've had hot dinners. Recommendations are all very well, but you won't necessarily like what others do. Not surprisingly my "favourite" campsites happen to be the ones where we experienced the best weather or where my teenage daughters did not whinge!

Look in CC/C&CC publications and Alan Rogers/Select Sites etc, plus the internet. I usually decide where to go within say a 5 miles radius, then find a site to fit my requirements. I haven't been disappointed yet.
