Camping & Caravanning Satelite Suitcase System (Maplins)

Hi,

Can anyone confirm their experience with this?

Is it recommended (for UK use)and are any other items required in addition to enable its use?

Many thanks for any advice given....

HI! Paul yes they are very good i have used one for about 4 years . i use my skybox from my house with it along with a small tri pod to sit the dish on ,also use a sat finder from maplins

Hi Paul, bought one last year, very good.

You do really need a sat finder meter and a compass.

I played with mine in the garden before taking it away with me just to get used to it. Takes me 5 mins to set it up.

Hi paul if you have a sky reciever ,why dont you just buy a sky dish ,there are lots on ebay very cheap mine is mounted on an upturned rotary clothes line

Hi Paul

As long as you're staying in England/Wales that kit will be fine - but the dish is too small for Scotland/Ireland/France. My 54cm kit works all over the UK and half way down France....

HI! Graham sorry but you are wrong i have used the above unit from the North of Scotland (Inverness area to south Derbyshire) with great results

Thanks to all for your comments, however have decided to abort the whole thing. As I get excellent reception of digital Freeview from either my built in Status or plug in to site system and only way we go out of the country these days is by plane, my one reason to use a satellite is for my Sky sports. However our Sky+ viewing card would have to be left at home so my wife's extensive recording program whilst we are away can be met. I know I could buy a viewing card for my spare Sky box but this would only access the usual 500+ useless channels but not Sky sport without paying a second subscrition.
