First time towing on the continent with caravan. We're traveling to Santa Susanna and looking for an overnight stop fifty miles either side of Limgoes, France having planned to use the A20. Any suggestions as to suitable sites would be most welcome, or in fact any suggestion that one would consider would help. I am traveling with wife and grandchildren aged 8 & 12 years.

Having read other topics on the page our arrival at Calais is scheduled for 0400hrs.

There is a site at Lake Eguzon just off the A20 north of Limoges, but it is a long way from Calais.

Chateau le Verdoyer should suit you - it's South West of Limoges, and a good site for your grandchildren, too.

Just seen your post about arrival time in Calais - last year (2006) we did an early start, just south of Calais, to La Chalard which is south of Limoges, in a pleasant day's travelling. We took the route to Rouen/Evreux/Chartres/Limoges (can't remember the road numbers now) and arrived by tea-time. You may need more 'comfort stops' than we did because of the children, but then you're starting earlier than we did!
