Your last paragraph needs a little more amplification.

It is my interpretation of the static vertical nose loads regs that the SVNL should never be less than 25Kg or 4% of MTPLM if it is greater than 25Kg. The upper limit is determined by the lower of ether specification of the trailer or towbar system for the outfit.

Tremendous thanks for all the very helpful advice. We ordered the new van before we went away for 2 weeks. Had 2 glorious weeks of sunshine Norfolk and enjoyed spending time in our 'old van' for last time. Feel at peace with decision made and looking forward to all the new one has to offer - an island bed and more space near kitchen area for husband to do cooking! he he!
