has anybody used thompsons water seal to waterproof their awning with what result

Thompsons water seal is for brick and concrete, it is not suitable for awnings, tents or any other application.

Fabsil is the tried and tested fabric medium, despite what the Thompsons website says.

Aquatex too, is worth a look.

Check Aldi as they sometimes have a waterproof sealant that works well at half the price of Fabsil.

Thompsons water seal is used for wooden and outdoors,not suitable for awnings. The wax treatment is what I chose, but instead of candle wax I used surf board wax,rubbing surf board wax on the stitching is often a simple way of stopping water penetrating.
