Caravan awnings

We have seen a few awnings that seem to have pads that attach to the van.

Do these pads damage the paintwork of the van? or are they safe to use?

We are also looking for an easy to erect porch awning that could be used for weekends any suggestions?

Hi Jacqui, the pads don't attach to the van but go on a separate beading line very close to the main beading line which runs through the awning channel on the van side. The roof poles then slot in to these and push against the van side. The pads are cushioned so under normal circumstances won't mark the van, in high winds who knows??

For a good lightweight porch awning try the Ultima 260 or 390 depending on the length of your van.
