Caravan battery flat

Yes, most fridges will work on 230V, and the charger will convert the 230V supply to 12V to run the fridge electronics.

It depends on the manufacturer of the van and fridge, and also the age, but the above statement will apply to most modern vans.

Yes, you could use EHU without having a battery fitted. I think that is what a new van being supplied by Bailey will be - an AC van only.

If you are removing the battery make sure that the charger is switched off and terminals on the loose ends of the battery cables cannot touch together. If your van is modern it may have a charger that can also act as a power supply giving up to 16amps to power the dc equipment. A switch on the control panel may need to be in a certain position for this mode.

Thank you both, My Truma mover wouldn't work today and having found that the battery is slightly flat, I'm charging it in home and still have the electric hookup running for the fridge. I am hopeful that once fully recharged and refitted, that the mover will work before going to the unneccesary expense of seeking advice elswhere.
