Caravan corner jack extra height blocks

Hi. Bought a van recently and wish to store it on a sloping driveway. The rear corner stays are not long enough so I need some sort of sturdy yet lightweight support blocks for the feet to stand on. The height I need is between 300 / 400 mm. Any suggestions?

Go to your local timber merchants and ask for some appropriately sized offcuts to use as wooden blocks. I never go anywhere without mine because not all campsites are flat and level

Mine are off cuts taken & screwed together from garden decking , permanently in the front locker when we go away and a 2 foot long bit for leveling on one side or the other if needed on an uneven pitch ,

300mm - 400mm (12" - 16") is a lot for stacking boards to support caravan steadies, very likely to be unstable unless nailedscrewed together.

Can I suggest making wooden stools or using tree trunk cut offs (free or very cheap from your local tree surgeon).

That is quite an incline you park on, so a stool would need packers underneath to level the stool.

The safe working load of the polypropylene stool is sufficient to prop an unloaded caravan, I wouldn't advise inviting a bunch of friends round for a rave in the van though. 😛

Thanks guys, all very helpful. I eventually went to a local bespoke timber manufacturer not far from my home and he is making 2 solid wooden blocks 300h x 200w x 300 long. Once made I will epoxy cote them so that they last. The base will also be angled to match the drive angle so they should be sound and solid and they will sit on a rubber car mat so they do not slip at all.. Thanks for all the advice!

Get him to make you some good chocks as well. As Sir Haggis says, that is quite a slope.

Thanks. Actually it is about 10 deg slope. (9.46 deg) Not that bad 1meter in 6 meters. Motor mover climbs it with ease! Swear by PowerTouch! Corner jack comes down about 300/400 mm and I need about another 300mm to be comfortable. Using bricks at the moment but should get some chocks I guess.
