Hi we have a bailey ranger 2008 and it's about 5.5 metres long. Is there a recommended caravan Cover I should look at?

We just had the caravan fixed for major damp and I want to keep it covered at the top anyway to stop any water ingress.

Is there any I should look at to protect from rain first and foremost and then UV/sweating etc?

As mentioned @ProfJohnL we had major damp which cost a fortune to repair and as much as it's well repaired we want to take extra precautions.
I've seen a few top covers but wanting recommendations of which are good or bad.

Ignore them! 😀 I don’t use a cover myself but based on what I have read, the cheap and cheerful universal covers from eBay and the like will do the job, but you need to be careful about straps etc rubbing. The quality offering is from Specialised covers, gets good reviews but it will cost you.
There are folks on here who have used tape on all the joints on the roof to add extra protection from water ingress. Hutch was one I think?? This may be an alternative to a cover?

I got a cover from maypole, when I got it one of the limitations was it was limited to 50mph! I used one winter , but as it blocked my solar panels I haven't used it since, relying on the caravan being OK to be left out on its own, 4 years on no damp detected.

From the damp/water ingress problems I've read about are they specifically designed for dry arid countries or do the problems stem from elsewhere?. With regard to the original post and assuming the OP's fault has been rectified it is a personal decision,if I had a recent caravan I would prefer using a good quality wax, thus negating any chances of scuffing the windows that may or may not happen.

Protec covers are costly but fit the caravan like they are made
They are made specifically for each caravan as are Specialised Covers. Both seem well regarded.

If you want one to stop future water ingress then I am afraid you will be disappointed.

You have had yours repaired. If you cover it up how will you know the repairs are satisfactory? You may delay discovery of the repair failure and find yourself outside the guarantee time limit,

A few people use them at our storage.
It takes quite a lot of physical effort to fit. Needs two people and broom handles.
When it is windy they “billow” like a sail, no matter how tight the fasteners are.
Imo the best way to get every Polyplastic window scratched.
I’m in the no camp.

If you are intent on buying a cover then you don't get what you don't pay for.

My view is that in your situation it's a case of bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted... But it's your money, and your choice on what to spend it on.

some aren't , you can buy a generic cover , if you state the make model and year , thats what I did at the caravan show a few years back
If you state the make, model and year that’s not really generic. The cover has been designed to fit that caravan and others with similar characteristics.

PS edit. Protec are now part of the Specialised group.
