Caravan for Work & Play?

SO, here's the situation.

I'd like a micro caravan for when I'm away working in the south of England... if you drew a line from Cambridge to Cardiff, I could be anywhere below that line in any given week. Ideally, I'd like a washroom with toilet and shower. It will only be myself staying in it during the working week, and I could potentially be moving from place to place on a daily basis, which are some reasons I'd like a micro caravan.

But now here's the play part... at weekends, I'd like to use the caravan to go away with my wife and 4 children (7, 4, 2 and 6 months). Obviously we wouldn't ever all fit in a micro caravan... but, it could potentially work if we could get a big enough awning attachment to sleep everyone else, plus capacity for a larger lounging space whilst still using the caravan washroom, kitchen and beds.

So, anyone have any recommendations that would be small enough to be a daily traveller use for work, but that can expand to fit a 6 person family at the weekend?

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

A TARDIS?

Joking aside - If you want washroom, kitchen and day lounger with beds long enough to lounge then you would be looking at a 2-berth minimum about 4.6 m internal length (end washroom within this length).

Edit - not sure if a full length awning on this van would comfortably sleep 4 extra persons.

Hmmmmm
Pondering and can't see it working with anything smaller than a freedom with full awning or even a gobur with full awning.

If all else fails call Dr Who and see how he manages :cheer:

I think that the idea is simply not on. Micro caravans are designed for two and usually for only basic living. Given the ages of the children I cannot see an awning however big being the answer although you can get them with bed annexes. I think you need to look at at least a decent sized four berth and a bedroom annex on the awning before the idea would be workable.
We did start out with four of us in a 10ft caravan but it was very tight and frankly six even with an awning would have been impossible.
You might get away with the Adria Altea Forth with an awning but that is possibly the smallest caravan I can think that might even be just about workable. http://adria-caravans.com/caravans/altea

Have you considered getting a small motor home for your weekly working arrangements, and then also getting a modest caravan which can be towed behind for weekends etc?,

You could buy a large tent for the children to sleep in and possibly play in during inclement weather.
You might have to put a porta potti in the tent for night time use. Most likely all this equipment, bedding etc., would have to be carried in the car.

Why a micro van for work? Why not take the family Van?
