Caravan Front Windows - 2nd Failure

I have just had my mid front window on a 2009 Coachman replaced two weeks ago. Panes rubbing against each other marking inside. This I know is a common problem.

Today noticed the replacement window has done same thing and dealer is to replace. Have the window manufacturer solved the problem or can I expect this to continue?

Had the same window on my coachman 2009 changed last week. I hope I don't have the same problem again. The van is in again in 2 weeks as the wallpaper joining strips have curled back.

Bryan/Steve had my Ace Firestar front middle window replaced last October for the 3rd time, the Miriad service Tech told me that if your window was produced before August 09 it stood a good chance of it being one of the faulty windows.

Before he fitted mine he checked the production date by the serial number that it was produced after July 09 which made it a MKII window, the MKIII being for the vans with a window longer in length then the Ace vans.

The MKII has been thickened to 6mm and have now towed the van some 120 miles without their being a problem with the window, l will be absolutely sure when l travel on motorways or duel carriageways but that won't be until June.

l believe the MKIII windows which are for the Swift vans, or vans which have the longer centre window are considerably thicker than 6mm and you can tell the difference straightway from the old type.

Thanks for the response. You mention your work was done by the Miriad Service Technician. I am dealing through the caavan dealer. How did you get Miriad involved?

Andy of Swift picked up my post on the seconded failure on this forum and got Miriad to come to my house to fix the problem save me taking it a 60 mile round trip to Chorley from Macclesfield.

Swift now have their own web site but before they used to monitor the PC forum.

Not sure whether Coachman monitor PC forum or have their own maybe someone with a coachman may help.

Polyplastics make the window but Miriad fit them, or they did in my case all co-ordinated by Swift .

Just got back from a trip to the Peak District and notice that the front window on my 2009 Avondale Dart has done this - rubbed a strip about 3' long on both vert sections of the window. Should I expect the dealer to replace under warranty? ( bought a 3 year warranty with the van). Will call them tomorrow.

Did you have any joy with your trader ?

I have a 2008 Avondale Dart 556 with the same issues - white scuff marks in the centre of the window and scuff along the vertical elements. The window is visually compressed after towing, then pops back a few minutes later. I have a three year warranty through the trader (Glossop caravans). they have initially verbally stated they will not cover as over 12 months since purchase, so I have commenced the Sale of Goods Act route.

I am having problems with Polyplastic windows in my 2009 Sterling Elite Diamond. Centre front widow has bad internal marks in centre of both surfaces the same as other people report. However I appear to have a problem that no-one has ever seen. Both windows behind the two side seats are prone to slight misting inside when in strong sunlight. When this happens a long row of numbers the full width of the window is clearly visible in the condensation half way up. The numbers appear to be around 2 inches high. The manufacturer claims that this is not possible in spite of my having photographs.I also find more general internal condensation in all the windows than I have had in any van over more than 30 years.
