Hi,

I'm looking at insring my bailey senator caravan with Caravan guard, Has anybody else used these and made a claim if so what was your experience of these.

They are quoting £50 cheaper than my present insurance but is a case of you get what you pay for.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Duncan.

Hi Duncan

Mr Mods will not allow bad press only good. So I doubt anyone on here will be allowed to say Caravan Guard are rubbish.

Whatever Insurer you choose ensure you fully understand their special policy conditions and warranties. The slightest breach and your claim will not be paid.

Personally I have always found the premiums charged by the Caravan Club Insurers reasonable for a very wide cover and with far less "red tape" than the opposition.

Cheers

I have used several different insurers over the years, and to be honest I would advise anyone to read the policy note extremly carefully, they are quite varied. I had one insurer who was cheap but had excemptions for almost everything, I couldn't see any situation where they would have paid out. I seem to remember caravan guard requiring (not suggesting or even discounting, but requiring) lots and lots of security. Its worth checking because if you don't have the requirements of the policy no insurer will pay.

hi i am insured with caravan guard, and was last year when my van got damaged they handled the claim ok all be it i was claiming off someone else's insurance as it was a none fault claim it did take around three months to sort out and get the van repaired but that was also waiting for a new front panel from bailey, they used a specialist solicitor to reclaim my policy excess, my van is stored on a cassoa gold site it just happens to be local and reasonable but the hitch lock and wheel clamp is a requirement and is stated in the policy but all in all they seem ok in the dealings i have had with them but no two claims are ever the same, hope this is of some help.h.

Hi Duncan

We've been with caravan guard for a few years.

but can't help with how they respond to claims.

We went with them because they include caravan repatriation in the policy.

Looked at CC insurance they don't include this as they use Mayday.
