Caravan lengths

I am hoping to get my first caravan this year, i have been doing a lot of reading on the subject but have not read anything on maximum lengths for towing, is there such a thing and if there is can anybody tell me what it is.

Kevin - for most normal towcars including 4x4's the maximum length is restricted to a body length of 7 metres (excluding the drawbar) anything bigger requires a minimum tug weight of 3500kg which takes you into commercial vehicle land.
