caravan level

Hi i have just put a triangle spirit leveler on my A frame.yet when this shows the caravan is level a spirit level on the caravan floor says it miles out..can any one explain

I have never seen an A Frame that does not slope down. I put my level on the front window ledge so you can see it through the front window.

I purchased a small spirit level and placed it on the worksurface over the fridge. We leveled the van that way takes a bit longer but when cooker we found every thing was not going to one side of pots and pans all keeped level. Also the fridge seems to work better why I do not know?

I have a triangle spirit level on my A frame and it works.

I set it up by leveling the van with other spirit levels then set the one on the A frame on clear mastic, pressing down on the corners till it showed level, then let it dry.Job done

I find levels unsuitable for caravans, different locations give differing readings.

If you must use water in a glass, or do what i do, level it with your eyes.

I always give a bias to the shower drain any way to assist quicker drainage.

Whats the difference Ray it will still give different readings.

We use the spirit level (or glass of water) on the floor by the door, dont know if this makes it totally level, but everything works and its good enough for us.

As for by the eye, it always looks nose down when level (as checked above)

I use a 18" level on the side of the van about 2' above the wheel for side to side leveling ( if the side is vertical the floor must be level ? )... for front to back i place it on top of the bottom rail for the draft skirt again 2' in front of the wheel ....... no spills 😱)

I also have a electronic gadget that works very well.....

We have used a tin of beans or whatever, just roll it on worktops fore and aft, then side to side. When it don't roll its level. Simple done it for years.

Another simple but quite effective method is to part fill an old plastic pop bottle to one of the moulding lines and stand it on a work surface so it can be seem though the window.

I've simply relied on my eyesight. I stand well back from the caravan and if it looks OK, that's how it stays. It helps if the horizon is relatively straight and even.

On our van the pull cord for the light in the toilet hangs down to just above the soap dish. I have a pencil mark on the soap dish bracket.

When the cord pull is above the pencil mark we are all level.
