caravan mover clearance.

The caravan industry has a voluntary code of practice whereby the minimum ground clearance, ex-works, will be 150mm (6"). This was achievable with 155/80 R13 tyres fitted so modern caravans with 14" wheels and larger tyres should run higher off the ground.

There's no legislation about minimum ground clearance for aftermarket fitted equipment.

Hi & thx for that, we will be taking the caravan for the annual sevice and i will ask the engineer if it is feasible to fit bigger tyres as we are a little bit concerned about the clearance especially when we board the ferry, although the engineer who fitted the system said because the chassis on the Hobby is in itself low there should be no problems as he fitted few like it and had no comeback on this matter. Let's hope it's ok.
