Hi Folks

Wife and I are seeking a place for a week's break in the Peak District after Easter. Just us and Max the dog. We have a long-twin axle van and would like an EHU and reasonable TV reception (in case the weather's poor).

We'd like somewhere fairly quiet with good views, preferably from van windows, and near good walking and cycling.

We've looked at a number of sites including:

Blackwall Plantation Highfields

Rivendale Lickpenny Longnor Woods

Carsington Fields Grin Low

but we are struggling to make a final decision.

Any recommendations, comments on above and other sites would be very welcome.

Thanks in anticipation.

Can only speak for Grin Low, very nice site and well run, plenty of walks for the dog,Buxton just down the road with takeaways that deliver to site, and TV booster system.

Try Chatsworth CC Site! It's a great site with good dog walking facilites, and access onto the Chatsworth estate nay time you like via a small gate on the site. TV reception is good, as the site has a booster system built into the EHU posts.

Hard standing also avaiable, toliet block is very clean and tidy, as you would expect from the CC.

Thanks for all the advice folks - it is much appreciated.

Losehill Hall and Chatsworth were among our first choices but sadly were already booked-up.

Advice given, along with review on UKCampsite, have finally helped us to choose and book Longnor Wood south of Buxton.

We'll let you know how we get on.

Thanks again

Have you thought of Ilam Hall CC site. Lovely walks. Small but pleasant. Tell wardens when you book about size as some pitches are tight.
