Caravan shock absorbers

What are the benefits ?

I have a 3 year old twin axle Bailey without them - the latest versions all have them as standard as i was wondering what real benefits they bring and if so would it be worth fitting them to mine?

Cheers

Andy

Shock absorbers help towards stability and reduce pitching and general "twitchiness" of the outfit. They are well worth the relatively modest outlay.

I would say that ALL caravans in the UK, should have dampers fitted, the roads are now so bad, the shockers will reduce the caravan from bouncing so much, having said that maybe the single axle would benefit more?

when i collected my new Swift ( with shocks) last November the difference between towing it and the old one was very noticeable.

The whole outfit "bounced" less than the old van , and is much more stable. Handling is much improved and the whole outfit feels rock solid.

If you can retrofit shocks ....do it.
