Hello l recently stored my caravan at Huntick caravan near Poole .I have since learned it has shut down permanently from November the first does any have a simular problem
On web siteDo you mean it has gone out of business or closed for winter?
Permanently closed phone closed no emailDo you mean it has gone out of business or closed for winter?
Have checked not in recievers yet but will check with Company house.many thanksTHat's bad luck.
You quickly need to discover if they have gone into administration or receivership. and lodge the fact you have your caravan on the property. You will likely need to prove you own the caravan to the administrators or receivers before you can physically remove it.
Is it far for you to travel to the site as that is obviously the best option?Have checked not in recievers yet but will check with Company house.many thanks
120 miles will give it a few more days the people in another site said they would go and see what has happenedIs it far for you to travel to the site as that is obviously the best option?
That’s a good outcome, hope it goes well for you.Good Morning Mr Wakely
I found your post by chance so am reaching out to inform you that Huntick Farm has had a change in ownership, your caravan is safe and operations are continuing. We have had to start administration from scratch with no phone, internet and some customer details not available.
Our temporary email is thehuntickretreat@hotmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you
Debbie
Why should Pete be looking for somewhere else? From the posting it looks as though the original business has gone, but a new one has taken over. So far the only suspicious events seem to be the previous owners sudden and unexplained departure and the destruction of records, the new business could be better than the old.mmmmm I would be looking for somewhere new, have you informed your insurance company of the changes?
What “contact”?I still wouldn't risk it. The contact would have been with the original owners, not the new ones....
What "Risk", the new people will be starting up a new business and a new contract. Why look for a new site.I still wouldn't risk it. The contact would have been with the original owners, not the new ones....
They have been in touch with me and seem to be trying to make good what the previous management created.Have also reduced storage charge by £10 a month.I will see how it goes.mmmmm I would be looking for somewhere new, have you informed your insurance company of the changes?
Hope it goes well. They have been in touch with me and seem to be trying to make good what the previous management created.Have also reduced storage charge by £10 a month.I will see how it goes.
I cannot understand your reasoning, unless you are suggesting its the same people running the site but under a new name.. But that is not the case, it seems to be a totally new business, new owners. - So its like finding a new site, except in this case its simply new management using the same site.I still wouldn't risk it. I agree Prof. Why should Pete be looking for somewhere else? From the posting it looks as though the original business has gone, but a new one has taken over. I suggest Pete should verify his caravan is safe, and check out the offer the new owner of the site is making. Having the caravan on site could be a good thing as it may ensure he keeps a pitch.
I do agree he should inform his insurer then at least they can't say they weren't told.
Hi Terry I think they trying to keep your custom if you happy with the reduction keep us updated how it turns outThey have been in touch with me and seem to be trying to make good what the previous management created.Have also reduced storage charge by £10 a month.I will see how it goes.
The farmer who is still in situ had the last people who run the caravan site leaveI cannot understand your reasoning, unless you are suggesting its the same people running the site but under a new name.. But that is not the case, it seems to be a totally new business, new owners. - So its like finding a new site, except in this case its simply new management using the same site.
If you actually needed to find a new site you would have to do a lot of research, visit , and it would be still an unknown, but as things stand, the caravan is already at a potential site, one that you know physically, you just need to be assured the new operators are legitimate, and providing the services you require.
It may come to be that your not happy with the site and wish to move, but equally you might be happy with the new arrangement, in which case you have saved a lot of hassle.
You are of course entitled to your opinion, and you might choose to move, but it seems rather presumptive that a new management will be the same or worse than the previous one, unless you have some inside information that you have not disclosed to us.
