Caravan wont work; help please!!!

Hi I have just bought a static green caravan 10' x 25'

No name printed on the side so I cant tell you the make

There is a gas pipe under the chasse

I have put a blue bottel on managed to get the gas heater to work but the gas lamps wont work

I have turned the tap on to full on all of them and there is no gas coming out and light it and no flame

I can even get the gas bottel off the hose conector with the tap off

I cant find any boiler I cant find any inlet from the outside nor any water pump so I have no sink toilet and shower

I cant find any waste tank drain pipe

I have found a main power inlet suplly that runs under the cassie of the caravan and goes into the wardrobe in the bed room whear the electric meter is but the wires are cut

I can find any 12V inlet supply

I have looked in all the cubords wardrobes and no water gas elecy supplies

Please could you tell me where all the tap and valves are

Many thanks

Without full details of the make model and year it is virtually impossible to offer the information you are asking for.

The gas lamps may have been disconnected because they are now considered dangerous, and certainly do not comply with current type approvals.

With so many problems it would be wise to get a professional caravan engineer to inspect and report to you on conditions and what is necessary to get it working - safely.

Sounds to me you have bought a static caravan. It's a shame you didn't have a better look before you parted with your money? You are using the wrong gas for the cold temperature we are currently having. If it is a static caravan, then I doubt there was ever a 12v system fitted, they don't noermally need them.

You should have taken someone with you, that could have advised you.

I'm afraid you have got a lot of further expense to get your caravan to a habital condition.

And at 10` wide, i would hazard a guess it is quite an age, as the standard size for todays market, and for some quite considerable time, has been 12` wide.

The last 10` wide van I was in was at least 23 years old, according to the owner.
