The chassis number will be a french VIN code, which if its anything like my Trigano you cannot identify the year by the usual sequence of letter and numbers, despite what some may tell you. So look at the original bill of sale and the certificate of compliance from the maker/importer. Although it can be that the original sale date is well after the date it was made. Look at the tyres for age/date of manufacture they may still be original (in which case buy new before towing) Inside the furnishings may have tabs on them which shows when they were made. Also plastic mouldings generally have the month and date of manufacture....windows, Thetford, light housings etc. So its not too difficult to reconcile paperwork with year of manufacture. Use the internet and you can often find the makers brochures which show the specification/ furnishing colours so does this support the year?
Regarding HPI checks if the caravan hasn't been CRIS registered you cannot check the CRIS register for theft,HPI, write off etc. You can CRIS register foreign imported caravans and it took about 3-4 weeks but you then become the first register owner. You get window security stickers and VIN RFD chips to place in the caravan.
Check the a-frame VIN is the same as on the makers plate which will be fixed to the A-frame. If its like the Trigano Silver I had the makers plate only gives three sets of information. The MTPLM, the max axle weight and the max noseweight. MIRO/ex works weights were not shown. The UK importers may well have added equipment to the van to suit the UK market, so ex works doesn't necessarily tally with MIRO.
Lastly whilst the chassis, running gear, lights and internal equipment are likely to be common with this fitted to UK caravans, the body panels and parts and specific internal fittings will be unique to this make. I think that they would be far more difficult to obtain either as new or used than would be the case with a UK caravan, and there is unlikely to be a very large Owner Forum to assist.
If its the one on Ebay then buying from a Dealer will give some assurance on several of the points that I have raised and they should be able to answer any queries that you have. It does look to be in good condition, and from the internals the upholstery patterns are the same as my 2008 Trigano from the same makers Group. I note that the web advert doesn't indicate that its CRIS, but the dealer can advise and could sort this out as a condition of purchase. At that price there are some decent UK Baileys which may be a couple of years older but may be worth considering if the towcar/licence/weight aspects can be aligned.
