Hi all.
My Fanmaster 2000 /sliding controls type.Has got a problem with the round push down dial.Itseems to have come adrift from whatever it conects to inside the front cover.I can lift it up out of its recess by about 3".

Is it a easy job to remove the front cover and reattache the downward rod,to what its come adrift from.
? The only screws i can see,are the ones at the base.Which seem to screw it to the floor.

I dont want to dismantle any gas connections,i would leave that to a Gas safe engineer.

Just wanted to know if this is a easy fix to reattache the bottom of the dial rod.

Many thanks
Pierre.

It should be an easy fix

Your heater instructions should tell you how to remove the front cover.. The gas control rod push fits into the valve assembly.

You don't need to break any gas connections to do this.

........kneel down in front of the fire.
........grip bottom of fire front each side with both hands.
.......give sharp tug.
.......bottom of fire front should come free.
.......lift fire front upwards to release top.
......simple job to refit control rod.

You will become an expert at this as that control rod design is pathetic and it will disconnect frequently!
They can be modified.
