Hello again Ernie,
Just to clarify, you are telling us the ignitor is clicking, so that confirms it's connected to the caravans 12vdc system, but the ignition wire is connected to the igniter but the other end is not connected to anything.

Assuming the wire you describe is the spark ignition wire it should be PTFE coted which makes it fairly stiff, it should be unbroken, pass through the floor plate close to the control rod, and the pass into the burner housing under the floor.

Based on your description, it seems the wire has been severed. Unfortunately it needs to be replaced, and that is really a job for a service technician as it will probably involve breaking and making gas and flue connections.

As a temporary repair which I cannot guarantee will work you may have able to join the two parts of the wire by stripping the PTFE coating off the ends, and crimping a small spade and socket. It would need to be well insulated, and I'd suggest a couple of layers of adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.

Many thanks, I’ve been underneath caravan and looked for the wire and can’t see anything not even a hole where it goes into burner? I would have expected to see a wire hanging at least

Its beginning to look as though you may have caught the wire some how whilst towing, and its sheared at the floor plate and at the burner housing. Can't say I've ever seen that before. Its now really a job for the technician.

The only wire I can see coming from floor to burner housing is bolted to the floor , white but thicker than the igniter wire & goes inside the burner unit

I'm not sure what you want me to tell you.

The nature of your questions and replies leads me to suspect you are not a gas technician, because a gas man would already know the basics of gas appliance operation and construction. Working on gas appliances has to be done with a full knowledge of safe working practices and test methods, so I'm not about to tell you how to go about replacing internal parts.

Based on the information you have given, It seems part of the wire is missing, I can only speculate how that has happened, but the outcome is the heater will not work without it, and it needs to be replaced. There is no other way to get round it without compromising the safety of the alpliance or its users.

A very simple solution:
You do not know what to do, so get a caravan engineer to look at it.
How simple is that??
