Carver water heater

I leave the water heater on during the day, using thermstat to keep hot. My Mum always turns hers off when not in use. Is it ok to leave on all the time, we do turn it off at night, just dont like the idea of laying on top of a tank of hot water.

Mike, as long as the heater is functioning correctly, it is safe to leave on all the time, on gas or electric.
