Cascade 2 water heater

Hello.Dont know if this problem has been done already but here goes anyway. The water inlet pipe fitted to the heater sprung a leak last weekend and having bought a new one went to fit it when the plastic thread of the old one decided to snap of,I have managed to get some of it out but some appears to have welded itself in.Question is how do you get the rest out? HELP.

Thanks. Paul

Using a junior hacksaw blade with the pin removed from one end, or a fine toothed padsaw, cut 5 equidistant cuts in the old fitting still stuck in the heater,

Only cut until you feel the blade contact the metal, DO NOT cut into the metal threads.

Next use a small flat bladed screwdriver to prise one section out, the rest will follow easily.

Clean up the threads with either a tap of the correct size or some wire wool just to remove any corrosion or limescale.

Apply a squirt of silicone lubricant to the thread of the new fitting and screw in hand tight to start with, then just tight enough to make a good seal with the O ring supplied with the fitting.DO NOT overtighten as it will just break off.
