I have a 2001 Bailey Senator fitted with a Thetford C-200 CW. It works fine except on the last outing the red/green indicator for the waste container didn't work. I have changed the batteries for new, and checked the wiring that I can see which all seems fine. Does anyone have any ideas why the indicator has suddenly had a hissy fit? Is it an easy repair or do I just have to keep an eye on the level from now on?

They are more trouble than they are worth!

I wouldn't depend on mine and always check the level visually.

The indicator is operated by a magnet on a float and they either stick or become detached by shaking too vigorously when rinsing.

The magnet to which Rod refers is merely clipped in place, which is why it is fairly easy to dislodge when the cassette is shaken. If you are lucky, you'll hear it rattle in the bottom of the casette-hopefully before it disappears down the drain!

When refitting, secure with a very fine tie-wrap. These are so light they have an insignificant effect on the reading, and are not affected by the er... contents. Just amke sure the head of the tie wrap can't catch on anything.Did this 3 yrs ago and no probs since

I lost the complete float on my cassette, what a job to replace. Thetford instuctions were worse than useless.

To try and work out where the float was suposed to fit (you cant see the position inside the tank) I resorted to using a digital camera on macro setting and taking a series of photos of the inside of the tank.

Not the most satisfying jobs to do!

Clive, I dout if those snap shots will end up in your holiday section, I had the job of replacing the flush on our old toilet, that wasn't a nice job to do either, but satisfying after that it worked when it was back together and no screws left over.

Cerbera have you thought that it was your other half that has disconnected the indicator lol, I have found that for some reason the loo is always full when I need to go so it's a rush to go and empty it, 7am trip to the desposal because nobody said it was so full.
