CC Tow Off Rules

I have stayed at the Commons Wood site a few times this year as it's close to London, the last time was this week for three days, the time before that was for three days in early September. When I went to book for a few days during the second week in December the website wouldn't let me saying it was within the "Tow Off" period.

Does anyone have any ideas/knowledge why this might be the case?

Cheers

Hi Mark,

Just a guess as I don't know, but could it be down to the pitches being to wet for normal vehicles (non 4x4) to tow the van off?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the reply but it's not that as Commons Wood is mostly hard standing. Actually I did park on grass there this week!

The wardens there tell me they have plenty of space and couldn't see what the problem was, they can over ride the system, which they did to get me on.

Cheers

Hi Mark

go to www.caravanclub.co.uk and all the rules are explained, just type tow off into the search and it gives you all the details. Basically it means you have to move your van off a seasonal pitch for a set amount of time.

Hi Frank,

It's not on a seasonal pitch. I know the normal rule about 1 night on 1 night off - 21 nights on 21 nights off etc. As I said before I stayed there earlier this year, then for three nights in September and then for two nights this week. But the computer is still telling me that the stay I want in December is during the "tow off" period.

Even the wardens were confused!

Thanks for replying though.

Usually, if the CC site tells you you are trying to book within the "tow-off" period, it means you already have a booking affecting one of the dates you are trying to book.

I came across this a couple of months ago when I had made a booking at Longleat, then a week or so later wanted to extend the booking by an extra night. The site refused to let me and I had to telephone the bookings line.

Regards,

Lee.
