CCC site at Seed Devizes

Thinking of booking this site soon, can anyone please give me the low down on this site, if you have stayed there recently. We have quite a big unit, are the pitches a good size together with access?

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

Hello Rodger,

We stayed at Devizes late October last year. There is no problems with access with a larger unit, but we found the hardstanding pitches to be rather cramped, there is sufficient room for a T/A caravan, and porch awning, but not alot else! We had to park our 4X4 on the grass beside the pitch, which the HSM was not that keen on!!

We are due to visit relatives in the area later in the year, uncertain as to whether we shall be returning to Devises, or look for another site!!

Hope this helps. :O)

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. We will give it a go. Both of us come from Norfolk origianaly from the Norwich area.

Thanks again

Hi Rodger

We know Devizes site well as local to us and we have stayed on it for weekends to try new awnings etc.The site is relatively new and has excellent shower block. It is mainly level next to a canal and split into 2 main areas, basically all weather pitches at one end, grass pitches at the other end. Theres is a pub, The Three Magpies just outside the entrance, serves good food but can get busy.Nearest town is either Devizes or Melksham, both have usual shopss Sainsburys are in Devizes, along with Morrisons, and Tesco, Melksham has Sainsburys, usually the cheapest place for fuel locally. Within easy distance of Bath if you fancy going there, also Longleat and Stourhead as featured in PC this month. Hope this is of use. Enjoy your trip.

If as Wendy suggests, you can put up with tight pitches, you'll find this site is fine, we stopped there last July on the way back north from Cornwall. The site is three or four miles outside of Devizes on the Kennet and Avon canal. You can walk along the canal, its also good for fishing.

Plenty of shops in town, Devizes is also home of Wadworths Brewery, much to my delight.

There is pub on the main road near the site entrance which serves very good meals, however walk to the canal and turn to the right and walk for about forty minutes there an exceptional pub on the canal where the meals are just a cut above - sorry as usual I can't remember its name. My wife and I would go back to this site, if you do go I hope you enjoy it.

Thaks to you all again, it is much appreciated.

Got it booked today, off on 6th - 7th June. Really looking forward to the week-end.

Should anyone be around there on site, we have a Safari ( Abbey Vogue 495 ) & Honda Accord Tourer.

Thanks again to evertone who helped.
