I did the same leaving Lydford Gorge in Devon. Phone and wallet on roof of car. Only realised when back at Tavistock site. Nothing retrieved and fortunately no financial loss apart from new phone, as I always have a stash of wallets unused Christmas gifts. What a great week, Steak and ale pie, washed down with a pint of cider, and the Jacobs table was loaded. Sorry had to leave early. As we were leaveing site, Hutch rang to say a corner steady was down. Got out had a look, put the phone down, decided it can wait for the next layby.
Next time I saw my phone it was bounceing down the A449 in a hundred pieces I'd put it on the roof of the car. Pr-t.
PS Looking forward to next meet.
PPS Go steady on the sole gin, Roger.
The shorts did appear😎🤪Sounds like you all had a great time. And just whether caravans are ideal for.
John
We were lucky. 80 miles, nearly all dual carriageway and motorway. 1.5 hours. Caravan stripped drained etc and back at the farm..I took us 3.5 hours to get home today, The van seemed to be perfectly balanced for towing, and had to use the Cruise control to keep the speed at a nice 58 mph, instead of going any faster.
Sorry to hear about your phone Dave,
