Change Tow Car

Hi All,

I have decided to change my jeep for some thing more ecnomical and almost decided to go for a vectra but not sure if I should go for 3.2 petrol or try 3.0 diesel both auto never had a diesel before, any thoughts please.

Barry.

Note that earlier 3.0 diesel automatic Vectras with the Y30DT engine have a maximum permissible towload of 1400kg (the estate is limited to only 1200kg and Signums to 1300kg).

The respective figures for the later Z30DT variant are 1600kg for the saloon and Signum, and 1500kg for the estate.

Manual 3.0 Vectra diesels have higher limits.

Only the Vectra saloon and the Signum 150PS 1.9CDTI have a 1600kg limit, the estate is rated at 1500kg.

They do seem to be low towing weights to me.

I believe my 06 Mondeo hatch 2.2 tdci has a max towing limit of 1800kg.

Oh.With the new van arriving soon...its for sale..wink wink..lol

Here's a list of Vectras/Signums with higher towloads:

2 litre turbo (petrol) Signum & Vectra Estate - 1700kg

2.8 litre turbo (petrol) Signum - 1700kg

2.8 litre turbo (petrol) Vectra Estate - 1800kg

3.2 litre (petrol) Signum - 1700kg

3.2 litre (petrol) Vectra Estate - 1800kg

3.0 litre (diesel) Signum - 1700kg (manual only)

3.0 litre (diesel) Vectra estate - 1800kg (manual only)
