Changing car to DS5, thoughts please

Hi all, we are fairly new to caravaning (we got our Sterling Europa 540 at Easter this year). The vans MIRO is 1252kg it's MTPLM is 1490kg. The van towed nicely with my audi A4 estate (kerb weight 1525kg). I need to get a new car, I really like the looks and styling of the Citroen DS5 (kerb weight 1605 kg) the model I'm looking at is the 2.0 HDI.
Does anyone tow with one of these or have towed with one? Any opinions on this car?

I discounted a DS5 for weak tow weights as all Citroen quoted ones are driver only.

May explain lack of answers...... My van is 1482kg mtplm & when the car was loaded I don't think I could tow that.

More importantly do you have a B or a B+E driving licence. Once we know we can probably give you some correct information. Please be aware that the maximum it can tow is 1500kg so if ever you change the caravan you may be restricted on choice. Gross weight is 3325kgs so if you have a B licence, it will be a trailer and not a caravan.

Hi Adrian, I have recently purchased a Citroen DS5 2.0Hdi, I tow a Bailey Pegasus 462, we recently returned from a short break in Devon, and the car towed very well.

The max tow weight braked is 1500kgs, with a Noseweight of 75 kgs, I previously towed with a Citroen C5 Tourer 140 Bhp, and I can honestly say the DS5 towed slightly better, mainly due to the more powerful engine, as the DS5 has a firmer suspension than the C5 the nose of the caravan was more level than on the C5.

I had the MTPLM increase to 1420 kgs, but I had the caravan on a weigh Bridge last year with all the equipment that we keep in it, and it came out at 1365 kgs. I would definately recommend this car for towing most 2 birth caravans, the kit in this car is very good with a reversing camera as standard.
