Chatsworth- is it worth booking a super pitch?

Hi all

We are planning a short midweek visit to the Chatsworth CC site. I know lots of you have been, so can someone tell us if the super pitches are worth booking? We're not particularly bothered about having to fetch water etc but wouldn't mind treating ourselves to a bit more space or privacy.

Thanks

Sue

Personally speaking, I thought that some of the standard pitches at Chatsworth were bigger and in better locations on the site.

I wouldn't bother spending the extra money.

we were there last year and i thought that the bottom end of the site past the toilets was laid out better than the top end. We certainly had no problem sith a standard pitch...we love it and are back there at half term in October

Hi

there is not a lot for the kids to do on site, a small climbing frame, table tennis table (take your own bats!), and a chess table - our kids preferred Longleat.

you get a key to the grounds on entry which is great for walking, dogs, etc. there is Blue John Cavern at Castleton and a bit further on there is a Wildlife Centre is you head to Chapel-en-le-Frith.

We stayed on a normal pitch on the way down, then a Super Pitch on the way back and the only differences were your own water supply, waste disposal drain and a hedge between you and the next pitch - oh, and eaten alive by midges on first visit and attacked by ants on 2nd visit!
