Chatsworth Park - recommended route?

Hi all. I'm taking the van to Chatsworth on Wednesday for a couple of nights and will be going via Ashbourne.

On checking the map, I see that the B5055 goes straight from the A515 to Bakewell via Monyash.

Has anyone used this road towing the van? Is it to be recommended or is it best to continue to Buxton and pick up the A6?

I ran this route on Viamichelin.com. I included towing caravan in the preferences and it followed the B5055 as you said.The only thing I remember of this road is its a very steep hill down into Bakewell.

I dont think I would go all the way to Buxton to pick the A6 up though.
