can anyone recommend any sites near to or in portsmouth? preferably cl or cs? or even commercial or private? but must be cheap as i wish to stay a long period, (i will be working there for 1 year) all info greatly appreciated, thank you, mark.

You won't be able to stay long term on a CL/CS. Part of the licensing agreement limits the length of stay (28 days I believe)
Robert, did that include electricity and did it have wc and shower, i suppose none of them for only 6 pounds
As mentioned you cannot legally stay for more than 28 consecutive nights on any site, or you become 'resident' and subject to Council Tax etc. However you can leave on the 28th stay elsewhere for 1 night and return, if you wish.
Alternatively, declare yourself a 'traveller' and you can do what you like

Yes it included ehp but you had to use your own toilet /shower, it had water few yards away from you and the toilet empty point was at side of house about 100 yards away or 20 yards if you park outside house.
