Cheapie Caravan - what security should I have?

Having only spent a few hundred on a starter caravan, fitting thousands of pounds of high security is not really an option right now.

I've made enquiries, and I'm told that burying anti-personell land-mines around the caravan is probably not legal.

The caravan is going to be stored at a local caravan storage site. What security measures would people suggest I employ to keep my caravan safe?

Damn, wish we'd thought of landmines before buying our hitchlock and wheelclamp!

In your situation we'd just have a lightweight wheelclamp and hitchlock - both can be picked up for around

Hi TheOpenRoad,

The choice of security equipment may be made for you by your insurers. Check the details of your policy.

I used to remove one wheel and stand the van on a temp stand. Probably enough to put off most tea leaves. Pick up things like wheel clamps and hitch locks from your local admag.
