Chemical Toilet Chemicals...How much!!

Hi all,

I need to buy some chemicals for my Thetford Cassette 2 toilet and have been amazed at the exspense of the chemicals available from specialists locally and also the cost on line.

I realise that the correct chemicals are a necessity, but feel there must be a cheaper way of getting the same results. Do some of you more experienced caravanners have any useful ideas to save on the costs of chemicals? Anything available with similar properties for domestic use?

thanks chaps🙂

Try Kemdirect. You can't skimp on some things in life, and this is one of them. All toilet chemicals are dear, but what's the alternative?

Not an ideal answer but for the last few years I have waited until I get to the CC National Rally and then buy in bulk.

In May 2007 I bought 12 large blue Thetford and 12 pink really cheaply from a man on a stall who was just going to pack up and go !

Faced with being on a site that would not let you use any chemical because of their "bio-system" I had to use none and empty twice a day. I now frequently do this if the emptying point is close by; first job in the morning and again towards the evening.

Best not to pollute the world with chemicals if there is an option.
