Chevrolet Captiva

Anybody out there tow with a Chevrolet Captiva 2.0 diesel? I'd like to know how it will get on with my Elddis Avante 505 (MTPLM 1325kg). Also, what's the max noseweight for this car? I'd appreciate any feedback.

Hello Steve,

I Have no information available about the Captiva's towing or nose weights, but I do urge caution. many of the American cars on sale her have surprisingly low tow weights.

You should check these out with your dealer or the manufacturer as the information in sites like this is not authorised and may be inaccurate.

John - despite the use of Chevrolet brand, the Captiva isn't American - it's built in Korea by what used to be Daewoo - it's also sold here as a Vauxhall Antara although there are differences.

Steve - I no longer have details of the Captiva - try checking their website.

Steve,

Somebody on this forum a while back exposed a problem with the Captiva in that the rear two seats on the seven seater cannot be used when towing. If you need the seven seat facility then the Captiva is a no no!

whattowcar.com will give you reliable data - click outfit and fill in the details

I havn't driven one, but from road tests that I have read, the diesel has a terrible flat spot at low revs, obviously no good when moving off with a van on the back. try one first.
