'Chipping' Peugeot 406 for imp. performance

There are several companies offering electronic chips which can be fitted in conjunction with the manufacturers electronic management systems on cars, to inmprove their performance, particularly when towning. We have a 1997 Peugeot 1.9cc diesel estate, which lacks power when towing uphill. Has anyone had one fitted, does it improve performance etc etc and are they worth the money...some are £300

I've got a Peugeot 306 hdi estate 90bhp. I paid a visit to a company called Dervdoctor in Ashbourne Derbyshire. He re-mapped my car to 118bhp it cost me
