Now I have seen a lot about Chris and on my window it has Chris followed by a number and everyone says you need Chris.

Now I brought my van from a caravan dealer and they gave me a 12 month warranty a service and a wash, plus instructions and a receipt but no paperwork of Chris.

Do I need to do anything about this like contact Chris, pay him some money (ouch).

Can some one explain why I need this ?

It proves you are the CHRIS registered owner, should you sell on you would fill in the notification form and send it to CHRIS.

They in turn send a letter to the(you) registered keeper, informing them that the change has taken place, like a cars V5.

So i believe.

Hi Reg,

First of all its CRIS (Caravan Registration & Identification Scheme) not CHRIS.

It is not a legal requirement to be registered with CRIS but it certainly helps when it comes to selling a caravan, and it has benefits when buying also.

You may like to view the following page which explains what and how it works.
