Coachman VIP 2017 thoughts?

Hi
We are thinking about buying a coachman VIP 2017 model. Mid washroom, fixed bed at the back.
Wondered if there is anything in particular to be mindful of?
We are aware of things like
Service history
Habitation, damp check
Tyre dates etc as have had caravan for a few years, but anything specific to this van would be helpful to know.
The other option for our budget and preferred layout are
Sprite major EB
Lunar clubman
Pros and cons welcome

By and large Coachman have a better reputation than other UK makes but are deemed heavier. Can be lower payloads compared to Sprite. Lunar did have a leaky reputation but were nice, light weight caravans. The company went out of business quite a while back so parts for Lunar specific parts could be very difficult to obtain. I’m biased in Sprites as I had one. Budget vans cf Coachman with decent payloads but contain the necessaries for comfortable living.

Having been caravanning and from your post you clearly know what’s required to be checked out prior to committing. I think the choice is between Coachman or Sprite.

Check front end high locker leaks for damp areas, as have been several posts this last 12 months on 2017 to 2019 Coachman’s leaking on more than one forum.

Absolutely 🙂 vin on chasis and windows etc, CRIS registration etc

If it is the mid bathroom with the curved , sliding , Shower door, check the top brackets for cracks,,in the plastic.
The rear panel near the top lights for cracks. Coachman do not admit to fitting the awning rails without pilot hole drilling.
