Cold Weather... does the blue stuff...

Does the blue stuff that you put in the toilette cassette freeze at zero degrees Celsius or do the chemicals act as an antifreeze? I was thinking about this when we were last out and I looked on the bottle but there was no information on the freezing point.

Put a bottle in the freezer and find out (and let us all know, I'm interested)!

Formaldehyde freezes at -92 degrees C so I suspect it'll stay liquid for some way below zero.

Not sure I'd recommend filling your water system with it for the winter to protect the pipes though πŸ˜€

I have never thought about it , but in France two years ago we had 0c to minus 5 for about a week and had no problems with pink or blue. , just being inside the van will raise the temp of the comfort seat.
