Anyone know the answer to this, cut and pasted from a question I've asked Grasshopper Leisure who are, so far, keeping their heads down:

Re: Water Pumps - Comet - VIP and LUX ranges
I see you sell both … can you perhaps, please, better explain what the differences between these are besides slight pressure / speed differences and LUX having a fat red blob on the end??

Hmmm, I saw all that too and as you can see its all pretty marginal. So hence my asking what the essence or thinking behind the VIP and LUX ranges? What makes one VIP and one LUX .... better bearings, quieter, longer life ...? On spec. alone, as you've copied & pasted, they could both be called VIP or both be called LUX or both be called something else like ABC. Mercedes do a C class and an E class ... they both do same thing but have different defining features and qualities. What makes a VIP a VIP even if you didn't have the spec? After all, even within the VIP and LUX ranges there's a range of flow rates, pressures etc.

Comet make a wide range of submersible pumps with various external diameters, flow rates, hose connection sizes etc.
One can only suppose, given that most caravan owners would replace like for like, that they wouldn't bother to make comparisons.
If the suppliers are unable to answer your query it's unlikely that caravan forum members would be able to either.

With a thing like a water pump, I would not really expect a retailer to be able to explain the detail technical differences between products other than what appears on the packaging or in the manufacturers catalogue.

I think the nature of the question is unreasonable, and instead should have been directed to the manufacturer.

I have made a slight edit to the reply by adding the word "question" which seemed to be missing .
If that is wrong please advise.
