Internet explorer... Oh I remember that.. Haven't used it since V6 - or was it earlier..

By the way has anyone had the "indian guy" call them to say that they have been told by Microsoft that windows on your computer is having problems or has viruses..

The other half enjoyed telling him that her computer was an Apple and didnt have windows on - he hung up after saying she was wrong. The next one that called got me - which was bad move as I'm a network Manager... I tied him up in techspeak for a min or two before he hung up.

They try to convince you that you gave personal info to MS when registering the version of windows.. and they try to get you to confirm it for security... well the third one did anyway!!!

Yes Ive had him ( and her) on a number of occasions. I just tell them I'm not giving any information and to not call again. Of course they do call again.

We get free "caller display" with our BT package and we only answer numbers known to us. All our overseas family and friends contact us on Skype. Problem solved

Yes, we have caller display but on the downstairs phones only. The ones upstairs are the old fashioned variety without a dispay screen, so sometimes i cant see the 'international' number.

I have found that if I dont speak when I answer the call, the computer hangs up the call before connecting me to an operator.

If you pick up the call most of the systems will just call you at another time if you don't speak or cut the call.
A pair a caller display handsets are not too costly these days.
